Guidelines: Monitoring and Evaluation

Measuring the impacts the York Narrative brings to the city will help show how perceptions of the city change over time. It should be part of an ongoing process to inform future activities.

Evaluation needs to be part of an ongoing process. Knowing how York was perceived in 2019, at the start of this programme, and monitoring whether there have been any changes will be important to understand when considering what’s important for the city going forward.

About these guidelines

The following evaluation framework will help you add some key measures into your own monitoring or help you to develop monitoring approaches where none already exist. They are purposely light-touch, recognising that many city partners will already have their own impact monitoring place which this needs to complement.

These guidelines look at objectives, process and suggested measures.
